32 undergo eye surgery at Ziro hospital
ZIRO, Oct 6: In a post Mega Health Camp arrangement, as many as 15 eye patients have been successfully operated here today at district hospital Ziro.
Out of 227 cases of eye patients registered in the Mega Health camp held at Raga, 32 patients which needed surgical aid were brought to the district hospital, Ziro yesterday. 17 patients who were operated successfully yesterday have been sent back today. The remaining 15 patients were operated successfully today by Dr. Taba Khanna and Dr. Dusu Grayu.
Dr. Moli Riba, DMO Ziro and MO Dr. Joram Khopey (Pathologist) supervised the day long operation conducted here at district hospital, Ziro as the post mega health camp.
One of the patient’s son said, “I did not come across such a camp held in the district. I could not afford to bear the expenditure for my father’s eye operation, but today it was done in free of cost”. He thanked doctors for doing so despite of holiday today.

The man identified as Nabam Sarbang of Komaseki village under Kimin circle of Papum Pare district was washed away by the river water from 5 km point at Komaseki village at around 8.30 am after water was released from NEEPCO dam.
Holding NEEPCO, Yazali authority responsible for the death of the person as they claimed water was released without alerting the villagers at downstream, AKKYWA demanded the NEEPCO authority to give adequate compensation to the family of the deceased.

Declaring the convention open, State Project Director, SSA Rajya Mission, R K Mishra, expressed urgent need for active participation of all the members of the Panchayat Raj institution in the districts and municipal councils in the urban areas along with all the stakeholders and functionaries for the successful achievement of the flagship programme.
He called for urgent reformation and improvement of the school system throughout the state to match with the rest of the country.
Besides systematizing the functioning of the schools in harmony with the prescribed norms and standards, the schools need to be facilitated with solar plates, computers, internets etc, Mishra said.
He also emphasized on the need for fulfillment of toilets, drinking water and other infrastructures as per norms in the schools.

NICRA sponsored training on climate change
ITANAGAR, Oct 6: A National Initiatives on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) sponsored three days interactive training on mitigating climate change through integrated farming system (IFS) was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dirang at Sangti under West Kameng district from October 4 to 6.
The training aimed at creating awareness and developing skill of the farmers about climate change.
Altogether 35 delegates including KVK officers, practicing farmers, farm women and unemployed rural youth attended the programme.
Inaugurating the training, Dr. SM Deb, Director, National Research Centre on Yak, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Dirang has explained the farmers about various reasons of climate change and how to mitigate climate change through agriculture.

IFCSAP takes important decisions
ITANAGAR, Oct 6: Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) in its general body meeting today unanimously decided to observe 1st December as Indigenous Faith Day. With this decision taken after threadbare discussion in the meeting, the controversy over shifting of the Indigenous Faith Day from 31st December to 1st December has ultimately been resolved, informed IFCSAP general secretary Gichik Taaza in a release today.

Public unhappy over local MLA’s performance

RUKSIN, Oct 6: Even though the state government has spent huge amount of money under various departments for development of Ruksin block of East Siang district, the area is lagging far behind the rest in terms of infrastructure development. Basic amenities are still eluding the area while the residents are crying for strong political will to solve the perennial problems.
The leading citizens of the area, including some PRI leaders said that villages are still deprived of basic amenities like proper surface communication, telecommunications, potable drinking, irrigation system for agriculture, education and other facilities.
The senior citizens of the area have blamed their MLA Tangor Tapak for showing utter negligence towards the burning problems.
No visible development has been achieved by the local MLA and his party leaders during the last four years, people allege.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the perennial problems being faced by the common people, Ruksin Anchal Chairperson, Aruni Jamoh alleged that their local MLA has miserably failed to achieve any visible development during the last four years.

Food waste harms biodiversity
The waste of a staggering 1.3 billion tonnes of food per year is not only causing major economic losses but also wreaking significant harm on the natural resources that humanity relies upon to feed itself, says a new FAO report. Food Wastage Footprint: Impacts on Natural Resources is the first study to analyze the impacts of global food wastage from an environmental perspective, looking specifically at its consequences for the climate, water and land use, and biodiversity.
Each year, food that is produced but not eaten guzzles up a volume of water three times larger than the annual flow of Russia's Volga River and is responsible for adding 3.3 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases to the planet's atmosphere. In addition to its environmental impacts, the direct economic consequences to producers of food wastage (excluding fish and seafood) run to the tune of $750 billion annually, FAO's report estimates.

the need for proper uniform dress code for students of University, College and School.
When we meet any university or college students, we are not able to recognize them
and we use to get confuse whether they are students or public. There should be proper
uniform, so that, we may distinguish between students of university/college and common

At the time of Public Hearing proceeding for environment clearance, no public opinion was polled and no public consensus was drawn with the project affected people of Pareng village as per the Govt, guidelines.

1. Early clearance of property Survey Report before any construction activities is taken place.
2. Inclusion of the owner of river as proper owner under the survey.
3. Independent/separate agreement between Pareng village project affected people and the Company before any survey is taken place under specific terms and conditions.
4. Exclusion of Political leaders from interference in the survey report.
5. Payment of Compensation to the Land & water affected people of Pareng village before any construction activity is taken place.

Harassment at the hand of department
Dear Editor,
I would like to lay down before people of state about my views regarding the Non-
I was selected as lowest bidder of tender process for C/o improvement and up-
I approached Executive Engineer for first payment of bill. But, they did not made
bill payment accordingly and after seven month it made a bill payment of Rs. 5, 74,000/-
Whereas, I had taken loan amount from different individual person and ground fund
just for early completion of said work and total amount of loan money was Rs. 17,
05,500/-
The works have been completed according to the advice of the department and the tender agreement as well. So, there is no any complaint or counter claim in respect of said work. Thus J.E (S) submitted the completion reports to A.E. PWD Division Daporijo for bill payment. But he surprisingly cancelled the report as if he had any individual grudge against me. And he gave the reason for late payment of bill to complaint from local people. My family is facing lot of problem due to the mess created by PWD department. As I failed to return loan money in right time, the money lenders are also angry with me and I solely blame department for all the harassment that am facing now.

Why so delay in declaring the result?
Dear Editor,
APPSC took just 3 days to declare prelims result of thousand candidates. On the other hand our police department seems to be in no mood to declare the result of Constable Exam (women) yet even after a month. Whereas both has conducted exam in similar manner using OMR answer sheet.
I request Police Department to declare the result before we doubt the credibility of the result later.
